Hotel Izulu takes pride in offering you a selection of the Cape’s finest wines, which we have sourced from emerging and established estates with a view to complimenting our food and ambience.
Veritas Awards
Introduced in 1991 by the South African Wine Industry, the annual Veritas Awards represent the highest honour for excellence in wine making in South Africa. Although many of the wines listed are award winners, not all winemakers enter their wines. Wines are classed in the following categories; Double Gold, Gold, Silver and Bronze.
Michaelangelo Awards
Started in 1997, the awards are run under the rules of the Office Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin (OIV) and judged by an international and local panel.
The idea is to identify local wines that will do well in foreign markets. Wines are classed in the following categories: Grand Gold, Gold, Silver and Bronze.
Fairbairn Capital SA Trophy Awards
This award, first introduced in 2002, seeks to benchmark wines in South Africa. Both local and international judges assess wines of the highest repute. Gold medals are awarded to wines that score 90 or more points out of 100.

An amount of R25.00 will be levied per 750ml brought into our restaurant.

To encourage some experimentation and help you to discover new wines, certain wines on the list will also be offered by the glass. In addition to this, we also offer regular specials on wines not featured in our regular wine lists. Your server will inform you what wine is currently on special.
